Eddyville Illinois is known as the horseback riding capital of Illinois and is centrally located near many of the most popular natural attractions in Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest. The Eddyville area is the ideal place to setup base camp for hiking and hunting as it is surrounded by 1000’s of acres of Shawnee Forest land and close to Garden of the Gods, Lusk Creek, Indian Kitchen, Rim Rock, Ohio River, and even several Wineries. Being a town of less than 100 people, services are somewhat limited, but it does offer a gas station and a Bar and Grill Restaurant.
